Description : Schuman 11 Right at the heart of the EU institutions neighbourhood, next to the Berlaymont and facing the Council of Ministers, Schuman 11 imparts style to your work place. Its design, based on a duplex and mezzanine interconnected stairs concept, makes traffic flows easier and bathes the building in sunlight. The building opens up towards the outside thanks to its superb ground-to-floor transparent and glass façade. Enter the entrance hall on two floors, go upstairs to the office areas and admire the nerve centre of Europe...
Technicalities : This massive renovation project was completed in 2004. The Schuman façade is simply double-coated with natural ventilation; facings with « scaly » glazing. Glass sheets 3 m high separated by a 2-cm gap; natural stone and "Prespa" natural wood colour finishing. The natural stone Cortenberg façade has double glazing window frames. The duplex floors comprise 2 x 650 m² per duplex and are connected by intern stairs. The façade is entirely in glass, remarkable sound and heat insulation, complete air conditioning via dynamic cold-formed girders, false ceilings with recessed luminaries, overhead clearance: 2.60 m, false floors with data and electricity cable runs, 2 lifts, kitchenette on each floor, toilets (ladies & gents on each floor), private underground car park.
